The Role

We are looking for a Digital Marketing Executive who can oversee the planning, execution and optimisation of all online marketing related activities across the firm. You will be supporting the Head of Communications, Business Development Manager and Designer in the roll-out of an integrated multi-channel marketing & brand strategy. The right candidate will have a strong working knowledge of the key concepts of digital marketing and the main channels and techniques – Email, Content, Web, Social Media, Analytics, SEO and PPC.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Ownership and management of digital marketing channels:

  • Increase search queries through SEO-optimised copy and keyword research
  • Ensure the effective day-to-day running of all social media accounts
  • Manage a contact and client list (in accordance to the upcoming GDPR requirements)
  • Plan and monitor the ongoing company presence on social media
  • Prepare and distribute html newsletters, alerts and invitations
  • Support PPC campaign planning and implementation across multiple platforms
  • Ensure a consistent visual identity and tone of voice across all digital marketing channels
  • Support the distribution and analysis of internal communications

Website maintenance and improvement:

  • Ensure the effective day to day running of the website and uploading of content
  • Gather new website development requirements
  • Recommend improvements and user experience enhancements
  • Manage the redesign of the firm website in line with the visual identity and brand guidelines

Materials and guidance:

  • Manage an editorial content calendar and publishing schedule
  • Make recommendations for engaging written, graphic and video content opportunities
  • Maintain digital marketing channel process guides and policies
  • Promote digital marketing best practice at every opportunity
  • Track emerging technologies and digital marketing best practice, making recommendations for adoption where appropriate
  • Regularly measure the website performance, identifying opportunities for improvement

Measurement and analytics:

  • Carry out regular quality assurance checks, fixing any errors, bugs or broken links
  • Track and report on email campaigns to inform future strategy
  • Use scheduling and analytics tools to plan, distribute, analyse and optimise content
  • Research and monitor key influencers and brand mentions online
  • Carry out regular competitor and benchmarking analysis to inform the SEO strategy
  • Measure, analyse and report on the effectiveness of digital marketing to inform future planning

Media and public relations

  • Monitoring journalists and outlets to identify and negotiate opportunities for editorial coverage
  • Developing pitches and leading sell-ins to the corporate mainstream and legal trade media
  • Drafting media content for media deployment

 

Skills & Experience

 

Preferred experience:

  • Experience of managing social media platforms
  • Experience of search engine optimisation
  • Experience of content creation and delivery
  • Experience of working for a professional services firm (e.g. law or finance)
  • Experience of working with UK corporate media (and legal trade media a bonus)

Preferred skills:

  • Keen awareness of digital marketing best practice and technology developments
  • Good understanding of traditional and new marketing channels and opportunities to align between channels
  • Good working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Email and CMS systems, preferably WordPress and MailChimp
  • Knowledge of digital marketing analytics and tools, like Google Analytics, SproutSocial and Moz, or similar
  • Self-starter, able to demonstrate creativity and initiative
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Working at pace, with the ability to take ownership, plan and organise effectively
  • Ability to successfully pitch editorial content to journalists

Preferred qualifications:

  • A strong academic record, preferably a first or upper-second class undergraduate degree from a respected university
