Ray McCann is a partner in Joseph Hage Aaronson LLP based in London. He is a Fellow and the current Deputy President of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and in all has over 40 years of experience in UK and International tax issues. Ray was formerly a senior HMRC Inspector and held roles in Special Compliance Office, the Anti-Avoidance Group, the Large Business Service and Revenue Policy. In 2004 Ray oversaw the introduction of the UK’s “DOTAS” rules and prior to that had set up the Business Tax Clearance Team and the Avoidance Intelligence Unit. After leaving HMRC in 2006 Ray joined PwC and has specialised in HMRC disputes and investigations, he advises both corporate and high net worth clients on a wide range of onshore and offshore tax issues as well as Code 8 and 9 HMRC investigations.
